Brexit and employment in 2021

Brexit and employment

This blog will explore some of the issues and opportunities that may arise in 2021 as we move into independence from the European Union and recover from the effects of COVID-19.

In 2018, there was much evidence to suggest that organisations would continue to employ EU nationals as their recruitment procedures are looking for the best people for the job, rather than the nationality of the individual. In order to ensure they are prepared for the new migration restrictions of 2021; employers will be looking to continue to fill their roles with the best applicants.

We are poised and ready to learn new rules and regulations, to grow and develop our team’s skillset in order to have the information required to support our clients and candidates through the next phase of Brexit- while still living through the restrictions and challenging world of employment creating by Coronavirus.

Following Brexit, and the end of free movement, the current plan is for a points-based immigration policy with minimum salary thresholds. There is still no concrete information on how this will work, however the team at SH Recruitment will be prepared with information as soon as it is available; enabling us to support EU Nationals to find ways into employment beyond Brexit.

Once the guidelines are clear, you can rest assured that SH Recruitment will be well versed in the information needed to support EU Nationals to find, apply and succeed in roles that allow them the opportunity to stay in the UK.

At SH Recruitment, we are determined to continue to offer the very best services to our clients and our candidates, no matter the predictions that may come true.

Candidates should rest assured that talent is always required, meaning we will still be searching for the very best applicants to fill positions in our client’s businesses.
